2011 Merlin Cycles Malt 4 aliuminium mtb frame. This is the range topping model, so it is made by Kinesis using their best Kinesium alloy, which is modified 6000 series tubing, it’s 25 percent stronger than 6061 tubing for the same weight. It measures 17″ from centre of bb to top of seat tube and is 22″ long from centre of seat tube to centre of head tube. Weight is a scant 3.75 lbs. It is designed for 100mm travel forks with a straight 1&1/8 steerer. For 26 wheels with a standard 135mm quick release drop outs. Plenty of marks from use, the usual cable rub, stone chips etc.. Also some paint bubbling in places, but no cracks or dents. Taken from bike radar review. Kinesis have used hydroforming to mould each tube into a structure that’s stiff and strong where it needs to be and pared down to a safe minimum where possible. A collection of elegant flares and flowing bulges mark out the Malt 4′s shape-shifting main tubes, shaving material from non-critical areas and putting more back to add strength at points where safety is more critical, in a way that’s frankly beautiful.

This listing is for the frame ONLY. 2005 Merlin Oreas titanium frame – engraved headtube and bottom bracket – superb condition, no dints, dings, chain rash or significant scratches. 26er frame, 16″ seat-tube centre to centre, effective top 22″. Straight 1&1/8th headtube 4.5. 135mm rear spacing 9mm QR. 68mm BSA thread BB. All normal for the era stuff – disc brake only. Cable stops for front and rear mech. Seat post with shim to accept 27.2mm seat post. Frame only in superb condition – very lightly ridden before I stripped it for a winter rebuild and unridden since. Absolutely superb condition – even the decals are in decent shape – which is good given their fragile nature. More pictures to follow at the weekend. An excellent example of early Titanium design. 1988 Merlin Mountain Titanium Frame. It has the smaller diameter down tube so its either 1988 or real early 1989. Frame has decal wear as per the pics and some chain marks, but no damage, dents, or issues. It comes with the OG Merlin BB (I’d grease it) and a freshly powedercoated 1988 Kona P2 fork. 17 ST and 21.75TT. The frame has a 1 Headtube, takes a 27.2 post, and requires a U Brake rear brake. Larger items will travel via bike flights. It will sometimes take an extra week or so for the paperwork to go through… Please be patient with us. All products will be carefully packaged for their transport. Things shift in transport so you will need to have a professional bike mechanic adjust and inspect it prior to use. Up for sale is this very clean and highly collectable Cambridge, Massachusetts made 1993 Merlin Titanium Mountain frame (original pre-1998 Massachusetts made frames are becoming rare and very collectable). The size is 18.75 and the serial # is an early 9227. This frame would fit riders from about 5’9 to 6′. This was the top-of-the-line hardtail mountain bike Merlin offered in 1993 as the Extralight didn’t come out until years later. The frame has some very minor cosmetic blemishes from normal use but very hard to see in photos. Overall a gorgeous and super clean example of the golden age of mountain bikes when bikes were just as much unique works of art. This bike will build up and ride as new.
