This thing rides like nothing else, I’ve ridden a lot of different trail bikes but this Yeti has some serious magic. It’s all down to its carbon layup, geometry and of course the floating lower pivot aka Infinity link, it’s this link that’s allows the rear wheel to track the terrain but then the shock tune & upper link schematics provide loads of support so essentially you get the best of both worlds. This is a large frame, I’m 6’2 – I’d normally ride XL in other brands but the Yeti XL is a big bike & the large makes for a huge amount of fun for a taller rider, it never feels unstable because it’s stiff but compliment and therefore never hangs up, it flys everywhere, the head speed out of corners is like nothing else. I only used a 10mm spacer under the stem even with the small headtube, the low pro attack position really suits this bike, never once did I feel like I was to much on the front, again because the suspension was so sorted. I think high front end geo is often used to compensate for bad suspension. Size chart says 5’10″ – 6’2″ – I’d agree with that. PS I ran a 50mm stem and built it up light with Reserve SL rims, this bike was a serious do it all machine. This frame has the Kashima float X rear shock but you probably know that already. It sounds like I’ve ridden this frame a lot, but I haven’t this frame was built and ridden a bunch of times in late summer last year. I bought this frame after riding the Silverfish demo SB140 for 5 months. Anyway, it’s time to sell. This frame is mint, it has a small paint chip on the inside of the swing arm from a stone or something, typically where the wrap doesn’t cover.
