Carbon Front triangle and Alloy rear. Boost front and rear axles. Frame – Description above. Rockshox Lyrik RC 170mm Forks. Rockshox Super Deluxe RC3 160mm Shock – Mark on the lower part of the shaft, deep in the stroke. Brand-X Dropper 150mm Internal routed. Sram Bottom Bracket – Pressfit ready for GXP Cranks. Hi, this is a Vitus Sommet 1 2013 frame for sale, size Medium. The Sommet is a great Trail, All mountain Gravity all-rounder. 150mm travel, accepts a 160-170mm travel fork. 68mm threaded bottom bracket, threads are good. ISCG05 chain guide mount. 142x12mm non-boost rear axle, it has a bolt through QR lever included. Tapered head tube, includes a Brand-X headset for tapered fork steerers. 31.6mm seatpost size, not included but there is a nukeproof clamp there with it. Rockshox Monarch RT3 air shock. In good condition, there’s scratches and chain slap as to be expected from a MTB frame of this age but no major damage like dents or cracks. Make sure to get a good look at the photos. The frame uses replaceable dropouts, i have some spares for it including various suspension pivot shafts and some nuts & bolts. There’s also a spare shock that was stripped down to be rebuilt, but i never got round to it, it’s a Rockshox Monarch + R. I’ll throw it in, if you wanted to get it rebuilt and use as spares or sell it on. The shock fitted to it does work and holds air, it has started to sound a tad squelchy however so it will benefit from a service. Suspension pivots have no play. It’s a large sized frame. The bike is now a 10 speed and is in pristine condition, I’ve not just cleaned the bike and taken photos, this is how it’s genuinely kept at all times. The bike is used but nowhere near to its full potential, the hardest terrain it’s seen is the occasional fire road, most of its life has been on canal tow paths and the odd country trail, No dents, deep scratches or cracks, but does has signs of use, The saddle is slightly worn at the nose. The fork is Manitou Minute with 140 mm of travel. They are a great pair of air forks and are very supple, these were serviced last December, Ive also upgraded the rear mech of Shimano XT in December when I had the bike converted to a 1×10, the cassette, chain, brake pads and bottom bracket were changed at the same time. The dropper post is a KS and works fine. The shock is a rockshox RL which also is fine. Wheels are WTB with schwalbe nobby nic tyres, no wobbles or buckles, they run perfectly true. UD Carbon, Tapered Steerer, 100 x 12mm, Mudguard Mounts, Flat Mount. 55cm seat tube, 58cm top tube. See Vitus website for details. The frameset is brand new and unused taken off a new bike. There are some paint blemishes under the clear coat lacquer on the head tube and seat tube. It’s purely aesthetic and the paintwork is in perfect condition. There are however some paint chips under the seat collar (which in turn isn’t visible at all). Included in the sale are. Frame, fork, headset, seat clamp, seat post, stem and handlebar, both through axles and mech hanger. Fully working Shimano Hydraulic Brake set perform well and give good stopping power Headset and bottom bracket are smooth with no movement 10 speeds available. The bike has no known faults! What To Expect From a Used Bike. A bike retailing at 5K new can have a retail tag of 2K five years on. With this saving though, there are a few things to consider. I do my utmost to be honest with the bikes I sell and present them to you in a valeted condition, ready for their new owner. I try to sell bikes that have been checked over thoroughly, are working well and are ready to ride. This though does not mean the bike has been mechanically reconditioned. Please bear in mind that manufactures advise mountain bikes to have suspension serviced every 200 hours of riding and dropper posts every 400 hours. The brakes along with frame/bottom bracket/headset bearings are suggested to be replaced every 12 months. This does depend on the level of use though. If a bike has a few years on the clock please be mindful and realistic of the wear and tear the bike has. Without stripping a bike down to the frame I can only give my opinion on how components feel and how the bike operates. There may every now and then be the odd thing I miss.
