The headset and bottom bracket do not have a recent record of service. They spin freely with some roughness due to age and use. This is a land shark vintage mountain bike Frameset from 1992. It has a custom paint job which carries over to the custom bar / stem combo. The fork is a manitou and it needs new elastomers and needs a rebuild. Headset is not smooth. This was sparingly ridden and kept indoors for years with minimal use. Mild signs of wear. Here are the frame measurements which are taken by me and there might be a small margin of error because of this. Head Tube – 4-3/4. Top Tube – 23-1/4 along the top tube c-c. Seat Tube 18 c-c. Read full description, look at pictures, ask all questions before hitting that BIN! 1997 Bianchi SUPER GL (AKA SUPER GY) full suspension Downhill mountain bike LARGE. Was one of the boutique downhill bikes back in 1997-98 seasons. Turned heads then for sure as it still would. Described is super plush and great for soaking up those big hits. Marzocchi The Judge rear shock. The eye to eye is 6.5 (165 mm) I do not know the service history of the shock. Seems to function as it should. Could also easily change the shock out. I mounted a fork, stem, bars, seat and wheels to test the rear shock. Shock looks close to the frame until the frame is weighted (as shown in picture#11) Felt great! Thought about building it back up complete but have WAY too many projects. As expected for a full suspension of this age, the rear does have some play but feels really good. Similar to what the GT-LTS feels like. Paint is in great shape. Does have some scratches/marks (no cracks or dents) from being ridden but it sure doesnt like its been beat up or seen much downhill! Still has the factory warning stickers! Something cool to note (picture# 8): The EASTON aluminum stamp is centered right at the head tube. I thought it was super cool and shows the care Bianchi took about putting out a nice bike. The welds are beautiful as is the Bianchi Blue/Green paint that they are known for. The rear pivot design is insane! Parts are machined perfectly. Shimano XT front derailleur included. I took a close up picture of the rear derailleur hanger. May or may not be a little tweaked. I never mounted a rear derailleur to it. From what I researched the replacement is: Derailleur Hanger Dropout #49. Id imagine this is a LARGE frame. Measurements below; If you need more measurements please ask. Center of seat to center of head tube: 22.5. Center of bottom bracket to top of seat tube: 20. Serial number: H7E008774 Might mean something to those that know Bianchi? GTs serial numbers had great info as to month/year produced? Let me know if you have more information on the bike/serial number. I took plenty of pictures. GRAB IT BEFORE ITS GONE!!! Frame will be WELL packaged in a bike box. Original Doug Bradbury Manitou from 1989 according to the Shimano date stamps. ST length Center to Top 17. TT length 23 horizontal. No cracks, no dents, everything is in a good, used condition. This bike had “Boost” hub spacing in the late 80′s! Previous owner, Jeff Archer at First Flight. This bike has a lot of neat features so there are two photo galleries below. We are not 100% sure on the date of this one since Manitou did not use serial numbers. The bike came with both the rigid and suspension fork and in 1991 Answer took over production of the forks so we are guessing 1990. The early Manitou bikes featured a 145mm rear hub and 115mm front hub which made for stronger wheels. The rear triangle is also shifted to allow for a strong dish-less rear wheel which is helped by the 90mm wide bottom bracket shell. The forks feature cro-moly blades bolted into a billet aluminum crown topped off by the billet aluminum stem. Overall, a very well thought out early mountain bike with some usable innovative features. Manitou, 115mm spacing, rigid blades (Manitou suspension fork also with the bike). Manitou modified Shimano rear hub, Hi-E front. Specialized Cannibal / Team Control. Shimano Deore XT with 22 tooth inner ring. Shimano 7 speed cassette.
