Rocky Mountain Blizzard 2008 Reynolds 853 (air hardened) Built In Canada. Retro 26/gravel/29er mtb steel bike. Race Face Deus headset (including fork crown race) and Rocky Mtn stem cap included. Size is 18 (with low top tube). You don’t see many of these for sale or in this condition so grab it while you can! The Blizzard is somewhat legendary in the bike world being produced for many years as a high quality steel frame before being revised as an aluminium fat bike by RM. I’ve owned this for many years and sadly it isn’t getting used. Overall it is in excellent condition. There are no dings/cracks/damage etc. The frame is straight and true and has had an easy life being mostly used on the road and easy tracks. There are however some inevitable marks on the chainstays from the chain and some cable rub marks. The frame has been heavily taped when previously in use. This is a beautifully made frame with excellent detail, particularly on the bottle bosses and the leaf pattern. The colour is Shadow/Black. It rides as you’d expect being built from the magical Reynolds 853. It can be built up to around 22 lbs/sub 10kg. Geometry details can be found online. Bottom Bracket is threaded and threads are in excellent condition. Seattube is to fit 26.8mm. Steerer tube should be 1 1/8. All cables are routed along top tube, rear brake can be ran full length with outer casing (and cable tied on to lugs). Front mech is top pull. There are 2 bottle cage mounts and a 4 point rack mounting system (2 on the seat stays and 2 on the dropouts). I have used this to bikepack on and as pictured it will easily take 700c wheels (although was designed around 26) It is pictured with a 700x35c with loads of clearance to spare, (approx another 9mm in diameter to chain and seat bridges and loads in width) it will therefore also run 650 if you wished. I did once trial fit a 650b x 2.2 but can no longer find the pic! Originally designed to run a 100 -120mm fork so you will need to fit appropriate suspension corrected forks if going rigid.
