Salsa Ala Carte 2008 Mountain Bike Frame. True Temper OX Platinum Cromoly Steel Tubing. Probably the best example of one of these you’ll find. This was someone’s dream build, deservedly specced up with top notch kit but then not ridden more than a handful of times. Hardly any marks or scratches. I have tried to capture any defects in the photos. Size Large – see screen grab from archived Salsa website for geometry. When googling this I have see someone manage to squeeze on 650b wheels. Not sure if this is realistic but worth investigating further. I considered making this a gravel bike build but it’s too valuable to me in this condition and I’d likely scratch it! VGC 2016 Salsa El Mariachi Steel 29 frame. Can also be set-up as’mullet’ with 27.5″ rear wheel with 2.6″ wide tyre – as per main picture. Size 17 / Medium. Please check out the link below for full spec info. My only comment as for the spec is that with 1x setup you can use 34t or even larger chainring – Salsa data sheet mentions 32t for some reason. FRAME CONDITION – please read in full. Very good condition for being few years old, well looked after, always cleaned and kept indoor, no signs or corrosion, no dents or paint flaking. There is one worth mentioning tiny paint mark/scratch (circa 5mm long) on the top tube, other than that the frame looks mint. No marks or paint chips on chainstay whatsoever – the frame was set-up single-speed from new. Top tube, part of the bottom tube and seat tube have clear film applied. New owner can obviously remove it but it’s one of those essentials that is worth having if you care about your bikes. Frame comes equipped as standard with QR 10x135mm Alternator swing plates and I will be listing the 12×142 thru-axle plates with. Some titanium hardware and DT RWS thru-axle to go with it. I may combine both types of Alternator swing plates with this sale if the offer is reasonable. Frame will come fitted with genuine Salsa seatpost Lip-Lock clamp in mint condition (I was using different brand seatlamp) and stainless steel bottle cage as pictured. Reasonable offers will be considered, unreasonable offers will be ignored. I care about Earth and use recycled packaging whenever possible – it may look shabby but be assured item is well protected. Cane Creak’Forty’ headset. Salsa seat post clamp. Seat tube: Centre of BB to Centre of top tube is: 45cm / 17.5. Top Tube: Centre of Seat Tube to centre of Head Tube is: 56cm 22. Seat post diameter: 27.2mm – see my other listing for the Truvativ one I used on this bike. Steerer is 1 1/8. I built this up as a’dream’ bike with full Deore XT 10 speed with Hollowtech II chains and some new-old-stock parts. Sadly running out of space and need to consolidate. There are chips to the paintwork – due to it’s age the paint comes off quite easily and I’ve not ridden the bike very much (saving it for’best’) and it’s always been kept indoors and treated with love and tenderness. Even with this care it’s still got some paint loss. I’d recommend either getting it lacquered or professionally resprayed to give it the glory it deserves with fresh decals – kinda wish I’d done that! Structurally it appears sound with no dents. My husband’s bikepacking dream for 2021 has died before he’s got it off the ground so this lovely Fargo frameset plus extras is for sale. It is a size Small. Work commitments and personal circumstances mean that he’s not going to be able to build this up as planned for a trip or two next year, a situation not helped by the pandemic. He bought this fantastic Fargo frameset from the first owner who had very carefully ridden it and looked after it’s every need. It’s had an easy life as can be seen from the condition of the frame in the photographs with only the lightest of marks to speak of. Also included is the (very expensive) carbon Firestarter fork, an Alternator rack specific to Salsa’s bikes with the attaching rods cut to size to fit the Fargo by the previous owner, a new 80mm Salsa Guide alloy stem and a used Salsa Guide alloy seatpost as well as new set of Alternator dropouts which have been fitted to accommodate the 142mm spacing on the Hunt Trail Wide 27.5 wheelset that is seen in the photos. The normal set up for the dropouts is 148mm. The frameset is designed to take 27.5 x 3″ tyres or 29″ by 2.4 tyres. The only thing not included in the listing is the pair of Hunt Trail Wide wheels. They are available if required – please contact for details. However, please bear in mind that the bike has the non-boost fork and is designed around 27.5+ geometry. Salsa specify not to go lower on the BB than 2.8″ tyres so the 2.4″ ones shown on the Hunt wheels would not be suitable. However, Hunt do say on their website that their 30mm inner rim Trail Wide wheels will accept up to 2.8 tyres. The fork is non-boost unlike the very latest model so this might limit your wheel options which might make the Hunt’s an attractive proposition. They are in very good order apart from marks commensurate with use and a small ding on the rear which does not affect rideability. Any questions, please ask. This is a vintage salsa ala carte frameset. Frame, fork, headset, salsa Seat collar and salsa pro moto quill stem are included. This has been custom repainted by a top notch painter overseas. It has minimal use since the repaint. Here are the frame measurements which are taken by me and there will be a small margin of error because of this. Head Tube – 4-1/2. Top Tube – 22 measured along the top Tube. Seat Tube – 17.5 c-c and 19.5 c-t. Check pics for condition.
