Orange 5 Five Frame Hope H/S BB & Clamp, Enduro bearings, Offset bushes Ex Condition. Also including a new Renthal neoprene swingarm protector.. This is a Blue Orange 5 frame 16″ suitable for people around 5’6″ – 5’10″, it is made for 26″ wheels and has a 30.9mm internal diameter seat tube and a tapered headtube. It has a 12 x 135mm rear axle and 5 of rear travel using Orange’s tried and tested single pivot design. It has mounts for a chain device and internal cable routing through the chain stays for brake and rear mech cables. Fitted to the frame are a used blue Hope threaded bottom bracket in excellent condition, a used Hope tapered headset, also in excellent condition with all the parts and a Hope bolt through seatpost clamp with a brand new bolt. All the bearings on the frame and other components are new or are in excellent condition and completely smooth. The shock is a Fox RP23 which is is very good condition cosmetically, and functioned fine when I bounced up and down on it on the street, but I haven’t personally ridden it. The last owner was a 14 yr old kid, so I don’t think that it’s taken too much abuse, he wasn’t very heavy. The bushes were worn, so I’ve fitted some brand new Polyfin Polyurethane bushes which are also offset. This has the effect of lowering the bottom bracket a little and making the head angle approx 1 degree slacker… Meaning it will handle better downhill. I thought that if I’m changing them anyway, they may as well be an upgrade.. I have completely dismantled this whole frame, and the linkage and I’ve cleaned it all with Isopropyl Alcohol and a toothbrush. I’ve then given the whole frame a 3 stage polish with car detailing paint correction polish and a polishing wheel on the Dremel. The aim wasn’t to get all the scuffs and scratches out because I’d end up ruining the paint by going too deep, just to take off all the small surface imperfections and restore the shine. I spent a while day doing this before reassembling it and the results look really well, you can now see the subtle glitter in the paint and it’s nice and shiny. As a used mountain bike frame it does have scrapes, cable rub, chips etc but overall the frame looks fresh and shiny and there are definitely no dints or cracks.. It is as “perfect” as you could expect a used mountain bike frame to be (without it having been a museum piece or living room ornament). It is ready to build up into a complete bike with the peace of mind that it won’t require any attention for some time.
