Ridden only twice but has paint damage to the frame that could easily be touched up or polished out. (see photos) The fork is also 2 rides old with 100mm 27.5+ or 29 (boost).

Not to be confused with the more common and less durable aluminium frames, these are ultra tough and equally rare. The idea behind these was to provide a really strong frame, forks, and finishing kit inc chainset, some tough wheels, but keep it affordable by using lower end mechs and V brakes as these would be easy to upgrade in the future. I bought this new many years back, but I had other bikes I was riding at the time, and it felt a bit small, so I never really rode it. Since then I upgraded it slightly with some Avid V brakes (original Tektro weren’t great), new pedals (Kona ones are available but have some paint flake), grips (old ones disintegrated), and a smaller jump specific saddle (not sure where the original is) and gave it to my son to ride. Unfortunately he isn’t a keen rider and has ridden it about 5miles in total I would guess, hence bobbles on tires, and us now taller than me! It is in amazing condition for it’s age (2003/4), and the frame and forks are nearly indestructible and worth loads on their own. The geometry is great, and this is the sought after second generation frame where they modified the seat tube and backstay design to fix the failure point of the MkI (I was a Kona dealer at this point).

Schwinn Paramount Series 70 PDG Mountain bike frame & Fork. Tange Prestige butted Cr-mo Tubing. Interestingly these have Schwinn stickers on the downtube here in the UK. Where in the USA they were badged just as Paramount. 18 centre to top. 16 1/2 centre to centre. 21 1/2 top tube. There are a few age related marks as expected from a used mountain bike. Proflex retro mtb frame, Aluminium front triangle, steel swingarm. With Rock Shox Mag 21 fork. Elastomers have perished on the frame but can be easily replaced (Cane creek thudbuster are a good one). It has a few minor scratches/ paint chips but it is in good condition overall. Frameset was shot blasted and powder coated blue a few years ago, but hasn’t seen much use since, hence the sale. Eccentric bottom bracket has been removed, cleaned and re-greased so it now turns freely. These frames are such an iconic design and are really getting rare now, so grab yourself a bargain! Note: Frame is singlespeed specific but can be used with Shimano Alfine & Rohloff hubs.
