Thanks for looking at this great piece of Manitou History. This was one of the MOMBAT (Museum of Mountain Bike Art and Technology) Manitou’s. I used the parts for another build and what you have here is as it was exactly other than the parts I removed. I believe but may be wrong that they used a spacer in the headtube. I noticed a small ding on the down tube and some scratches on the top tube (pictured).. Would’ve been that way as it did not happen on my watch. Here’s a cool opportunity to build up a great bike! This is a used bike and is in good used condition but please expect the usual scuffs decal loss and minor scratches that would be expected form a used bike of this age. There are no dents or cracks. This bike has been sitting for a while. If you are expecting a new bike I strongly suggest you consider contacting your local bike shop directly for a new 2021 model. So new and barely ridden that even the tiny little thingies from the rubber ejection mold are present on the tires. Frame, fork, stem, headset spacers, handlebars, seat-post, water-bottle cage, saddle rails, and even toe-clips are all pure gorgeous titanium. XTR front derailleur and triple crank-set. Sram XO rear derailleur and shifters (3×9). DT Swiss XM-490 29 inch wheels (pretty sure these are set-up tubeless). Panaracer Cedric Garcia 29×2.25 inch tires front and rear. Avid Mechanicalbrakes front and rear. 160mm rotors front and rear. Ergon grips and saddle with titanium rails. Also included is the saddle-bag with various tools/CO2 cartridge etc. Effective top tube 24 inches / 60cm. Center of bottom bracket to top of seat collar is 20.25 inches / 52 cm. Stand over height is 33 inches. Fairly certain wheels are set-up tubeless, but I’m not 100% sure. We include detailed pictures and accurate descriptions. Dekerf Team ST Soft Tail Vintage Mountain Bike Frameset. Seat Tube 18 Center to Top. Top Tube 22.5 Center to Center. Unique soft tail design made by Chris Dekerf in British Columbia. I think its a 1999 model but I cant remember. Its been in storage for a number of years. No problems when parked. The chain stays are titanium and the rest of the tube set is Reynolds 853 steel. I believe the fork is a Rockshox SID Dual Air Long Travel. Theres some weeping at the seals so might need a service. Theres also some fading on the uppers. Includes owners manual and touch up paint. Trek Remedy 8, used by me from 2010 to 2013, a few years in storage, then by my son-in-law in 2019. Trek size 17.5 inch, measures about 42cm centre of b/b to top of seat tube, 57cm centre to centre of top tube. 150mm rear travel, RockShox Monarch rear air shock, 200 x 57mm. I don’t know much about this shock as it was fitted by my son-in-law, so it’s only a couple of years old, and I haven’t ridden it. The fork is a tapered steerer Fox Float 36 RC2, 160mm travel, 20mm through axle. Best fork I ever used when I was mountain biking, low and high speed compression adjustable separately and pretty light too. Frame needs 26 wheels and a 31.6mm seatpost. Rear hub needs to be 135mm spacing and quick release type. The extra long quick release lever needed as the hub and rear pivot are concentric is included. Condition is well used, plenty of paint scuffs on frame and fork, but all bearings good and no dents. When I was taking the pictures I noticed a very small amount of oil leakage around the left fork seal, stanchions are good but fork seals might need replacing. Built up to just under 30 pounds weight and was a blast to ride, hopefully will see more challenging trails soon….. ANOTHER VINTAGE MTB LISTING FROM CLASSIC_MTBS_ON_IG. Vintage MTB 1988 Merlin Titanium Mountain Frame 17 w/ Kona P2 Fork. An excellent example of early Titanium design. 1988 Merlin Mountain Titanium Frame. It has the smaller diameter down tube so its either 1988 or real early 1989. Frame has decal wear as per the pics and some chain marks, but no damage, dents, or issues. It comes with the OG Merlin BB (I’d grease it) and a freshly powedercoated 1988 Kona P2 fork. 17 ST and 21.75TT. The frame has a 1 Headtube, takes a 27.2 post, and requires a U Brake rear brake. Larger items will travel via bike flights. It will sometimes take an extra week or so for the paperwork to go through… Please be patient with us. All products will be carefully packaged for their transport. Things shift in transport so you will need to have a professional bike mechanic adjust and inspect it prior to use.
