Kona Explosif 1997 18. Rare and sought after frame but it is a tad scruffy and has a shallow dent in the top tube and missing paint on the chain stay plus the usual amount of chain suck. Various small blemishes and knocks here and there. It rides well and I have built it up just as a hack/ pub bike but the frame really warrants better kit it is very usable as is. High end lightweight steel frame, a great base for upgrades. New on one forks. Easton EA 90 carbon bar. Shimano 9 speed groupset mainly LX and Deore with an XT front mech. Medium 18″ frame set up for me at 5’10″ and 32 inside leg. Has been used offroad extensively so has marks here and there but overall in good condition. All in good working order and ready to ride. Vintage MTB 1992 Kona Hei Hei Titanium 19. 1992 Kona Hei Hei Titanium Frame Frame has decal wear as per the pics and some chain marks, but no damage, dents, or issues. Comes with triple butted Kona P2 fork, Titanium Kona 27.2 Seatpost, and Syncros Ti BB. Frame size is 19 ST with a 22.5 TT. I do have the ti brake noodle for it (forgot to take a pic). Larger items will travel via bike flights. It will sometimes take an extra week or so for the paperwork to go through… Please be patient with us. All products will be carefully packaged for their transport. Things shift in transport so you will need to have a professional bike mechanic adjust and inspect it prior to use. Proper care needs to be taken in using this product safely. Please make sure a professional bike mechanic examines your bike prior to use and ride lightly. Listed is a used Kona Explosif mountain bike frame, which has been converted to singlespeed by James Bleakley of Black Sheep using stainless horizontal dropouts. It is made from Reynolds 853 and is approximately a 20″ size: the seat tube measures 20″ ctt, the effective top tube measures approximately 24″ ctc, the actual TT measures 23″ ctc, and head tube measures 150mm. The head tube is 1-1/8 and a threadless headset is included, the seat tube is 27.2mm, and the rear axle is 135mm (spacing measures 140mm, but fits 135mm bolt on well). There is currently a bottom bracket installed – I made a brief attempt to remove it and it didn’t budge, a more concerted effort may be able to remove it. It rolls with a light roughness but is functionally smooth. The frame shows scratches and marks typical of use, but looks good overall. Please inspect the images for detail. Cool vintage Kona “Cinder Cone” mountain bike frame. Historically significant, around 1988, one of the first Kona mountain bikes, paint jobs by Paul Brodie, designed by Joe Murray. Tange double butted chromoly steel frame. Paint is white, with a splattering of red and yellow. Rear dropout spacing is 130. It has no dents, no crashes, has some normal wear, some paint chips and scratches. BB and derailleur threads in great shape. Take a good look at the pictures, that’s exactly what’s included. Lovely vintage titanium Kona Hei Hei. 18 frame, center to top. Very low serial number, B18319. Excellent vintage used condition. No cracks, dents, rewelds, etc. Some chain marks, scratches, etc, on the drive side chain stay, as usual. A little discoloration from clamps on seat collar and top tube. Only decals are the “Kona Handmade in USA” sticker on the seat tube by bottom bracket, and the Hei Hei decal on non-drive side top tube. Threads are excellent throughout. Please review all photos and feel free to message us with any questions. As a cool added bonus, the frame also includes the original matching Kona Race Light titanium handlebar. Bar measures 535mm wide. Lightly used in great shape. Some clamp marks from bar ends. We package in house with extreme care, using high quality packing materials and strong bike boxes.
