I have had this bike frame for 8 years and used it for hauling cargo with an Xtracycle longtail extension, and as an urban utility mountain bike, but I now have way too many bikes and not enough space so it needs to go. It’s 20 years old and both the frame and Kona Project 2 forks have plenty of scrapes and scratches on them, but they are both rock solid. I can set this up for you in different ways to suit your requirements. Option 1 Urban – It is currently set up for urban use with a 27 speed shimano drive train, Crazy Bob balloon tyres and a set of 65mm mudguards should you want them. It is great fun to ride around the streets. Option 2 Urban 1×9 – I rode it as a 1×9 for a while with a 40T Stronglight crank and can switch thi. S back if you prefer. Option 3 Off Road – If you want to use it for it’s intended purpose chuck on some knobblies and you would have a great off road bike, I have some knobblies I could sling on it if required. FRAME & FORKS etc. 19 Orange P7 Series 8 steel Frame late 90′s with the original orange speckled paint (v-brakes only) Kona Project 2 steel forks (v-brakes only). FSA Pig pro headset – bombproof. Original Orange stem – looong stem. Brand New Deore front mech – this has been used for 30 miles for testing the rig out. Nice SRAM Truvativ GXP-II crank with brand new GXP bottom bracket (done 30 miles) – chainrings have had some use but in good nick. Deore LX 3×9 shifters – similar vintage to bike and working perfectly New gear cables. DMR V8 flat pedals (I may still have the box and syringe with grease in). Following parts have covered 200 miles at most 11-34 cassette &. Alivio 9 speed rear mech – solid performance. 26 Alex 3000 Rims – rims are worn but still strong. Shimano Deore 610 Hubs – have been rebuilt with new cones in front, and new free hub in rear. Schwalbe Crazy Bob 26×2.35 Tyres – huuge balloon tyres for urban use. They have minima puncture protection so not ideal for commuting. Unless you add some slime to the inner tube. Vintage Shimano XT V-brakes. Shimano Servo wave brake levers – change the servo wave position for more pull or faster bite! These were a pain to set up around the ballon tyres, but now work great the best shimano v-brakes period Super brake noodles – no more sticky brakes!
