Classic Retro 1998 Santa Cruz Chameleon Mk1 16 MTB Mountain Bike Frame Set

The MK1 Chameleon was only made from 1998 to 2000 so very few survivors. The frame is in good straight condition with no dents or damage. Its got its fair share of usage scuffs n scratches as youd expect for a bike frame thats 20 years old and built to be ridden hard. Just look at the frame design of the rear forks, theyre are built with box section alloy with rear facing dropouts. The whole frame is made with strength in mind. Being the MK1 theres no disc brake boss but there is an adapter on the market which fits to the near side dropout to allow disc calipers to be fitted. All the info is on Santa Cruz site. If youve been after one of these iconic Santa Cruz Framesets then youll know just how rare they are so dont miss this opportunity to get your hands on one. From my research its a 1998 bike. This was fine for me and due to its smaller size, great for off-road. Sadly its been sat in my shed for a number of years and Ive since bought a hybrid bike. I dont know a huge amount about Specialized Rockhopper’s but I can see they are a much loved retro bike. I have added screenshots as to what the original spec of the bike was in 1998. I believe much on the bike is still original, apart from seat and tyres. From the stickers on the bike, it has: Enhanced butted aluminium frame Answer Manitou Spyder forks Schwalbe Blackjack off road tyres spare road tyres for your commute Quick release wheels Size of wheel appears to be 26 x 1.50 It has 27 Shimano gears. All still work The brake levers have some corrosion spots. I believe the bike is still in good condition however has the usual marks/scratches/rust spots for a bike this age. Vintage Gary Fisher signal orange Paragon frame and fork, I believe it’s a 1991 but I could be off by a year. Fits 26 wheels, cantilever brake mounts. The frame is quad-butted supersize Tange cr-mo. The seat tube measures approximately 19-1/2 when measuring from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube. The fork has a 1-1/4″ threaded “Evolution style steer tube, also the steer tube is stamped True Temper. Unique well made rear dropouts. Used with signs of age and wear, scratches, paint chips, cable rub, chain slap, general cosmetic flaws. Has the remnants of a “Cincinnati Ohio” decal on the top tube. Please review all the photos; the couple of pictures taken from several feet away are a little deceiving due to the vibrant nature of the color, they don’t show the paint flaws that the up close photos do. No dents or repairs. Cool frameset but isn’t my size so I don’t need it. Offroad proflex 750 classic retro full suspension mountain bike 19 Frame

This is my offroad proflex 750 that I’ve owned since 1994. Over the years it has moved house with us several times and been upgraded, downgraded and then neglected and used for spares by my sons who eventually abandoned it in a sorry looking state. I have always loved this bike and remember it attracting a lot of attention in it’s day. It was the first full suspension bike on the market in 1990/91 with the patented Girvin flexstem. These days, old models like this are still sought after as retro classics and they are hard to come by. I have lovingly and painstakingly restored this one by stripping it down to the bone and polishing the aluminium frame. I have used as many of the original parts as I could (stripping and servicing them along the way). Any missing parts have been replaced by good quality used or new. I have replaced the old shifters with shimano STX rapidfire…. New chain / all new cables / tubes / brakes etc. All the old elastomer bushes have been replaced with new…. I will be sad to see it go but the alternative will be going back in the barn and collecting dust. It looks great and is cleaned oiled polished and ready to go. White, 19 size large Kona lava dome, joe murray frame design, upgraded with parts including: virtually nos wolber wheelset with wolber tubular tyres, ritchey force lite bars, dean stem, thomson post, dia compe ss4. Currently set up single speed, and as you can see, with a cassette, the original 7 speed for the wheelset, which I can leave on or replace with an ss hub kit. Some quality virtually new and used parts on this including a nice 28 year old steel frame, and original 1 headtube p2 forks. Paintwork has seen better days, have tried to highlight this in photos, including a spot on the chainstay that appears to have been painted in nail varnish or some such. Headset bearings are also shot and the seat post is hitting an obstruction about 150mm down. Feel free to make me an offer. Would rather meet nr Exeter or can post at buyers expense. I have for sale my Dekerf Team SL 853 which is an18.5 Team SL. Completed by Chris Dekerf on June 27, 2000. It was built in a small group of just 8 frames spread over 4 sizes, which would have been unusual at that time. Within that group of 8 were 3, 18.5 frames of which you see before you. I have recently had the frame sent back to Chris Dekerf in Vancouver for a full refurb and respray in this stunning Dion Blue colour. The paint is as flawless as you would expect from Chris and is a colour true to it’s era. The decals are applied beneath the clear coat of the frame and the frame condition really is as new. This would make a fantastic retro build or an art for the collector connoisseur. Gt Zaskar LE 1996 Mountain bike Retro frame

1996 Zaskar LE frame and “custom” build up. It was the first year to have the oval down tube and still didn’t have factory disc mount. I bought this frame brand new when I was in my teens having saved up for a very long time and this was quite some time ago… Frame is in very good condition and still has not had n. Ew decals not yet fitted, new owner can decide what to with it. I recently built it up again with a selection of bits we had collated over the years. Easton monkeylite carbon bars. Nobby Nic and a Fire XC pro. It is not all period parts, but then the bike was never bought complete in 1996. It has a nice mix of components which you can see in the photos, and we have added the A2Z disc brake adapter to the rear which works very well with the Juicy brakes. Lots of new or nearly new bits on it. Be sad to see it go, but it is a bit too small for me and I barely get the free time to ride my main MTB, let alone this! It’s done 2 miles since being built. I realise it is probably worth more to break for bits and sell the frame on it’s own, but would prefer it to go as a whole at the moment. Collection only from Near Budleigh Salterton. Sadly I have for sale my GT LTS mountain bike. It has a 16 inch Frame. (Stamped 16 on the frame under the seat post). Ive owned this bike for at least 16 years, maybe more. Always serviced and kept in good shape. In my storage shed for the past 5-6 years, kept dry but not used. I kept it as I always felt it would be a future classic as was always a nice bike to ride but we are removing a shed from the garden and I simply wont have space to keep any longer.
