Sant cruz heckler mk6. Would make a really nice kids bike. In good shape, a few marks from cable rub, but no cracks. There is a tiny ding in the downtube. Should not affect structural integrity.

VCR Cycles is delighted to bring to the market this 1999 Santa Cruz Heckler X 18.5 MTB frameset. Top quality USA made retro frame. Fox Vanilla x rear suspension. Frame is scruffy but solid with no dents or cracks etc. The linkages are all good with no play. Only negative is the drive side bottom bracket thread is quite weak. It’ll still take a bottom and you can still tighten it right up to the correct torque but as you can see in the last two photos, the first 5mm is weak so needs to be declared. As a complete bike this was built with a Shimano Hollowtech type BB with the deeper cups and was used for years with no issues. There’s also good quality threadless BB’s on the market now as another alternative. Centre of BB to top of seat tube is 18.5. Centre of seat tube to centre of headtube is 22. Rear spacing is : 135mm. Front spacing is : N/A.

A brilliant frame, freshly rebuilt with new Enduro MAX LLU angular contact frame bearings, the linkage is effortless to operate. Upgraded Fox RP23 Kashima air shock (trail adjust), lovely and smooth and all the adjustments work as they should. The stanchion is free from scratches, the shock is in excellent condition and has been recently upgraded. Great condition some minor marks here and there from use, cable rub and some heel rub. It looks brilliant in the matte black finish. Rear drop outs are 135mm, BB width is 73mm, headset is suitable for a straight steerer. Superstar seat post and QR seat clamp included. Hope Tech headset fitted which has been cleaned and regreased, the bearings feel like brand new. A superb looking frame and feels brilliant on the trails as you would expect from a Santa Cruz. A rescue from a bad home, have nurtured back to life with a little tlc, few life scars but well trained, won’t siht on your rug. Solid structurally sound frame but with several paint chips (pictured) , marks mostly out of sight and some light fading to paint if you look closely, fully dressed she’ll look great. Just fit new pivot bearings never been riden since. Slightly tatty but will ride like new. 150mm travel front (recommend 140-160-maybe 170 with offset bushings), 135mm rear (Fox factory ctd-can serviced). Great chance to build a legend.
