For sale is my Ritchey Timberwolf frame in. Ritchey WCS Logic’ triple-butted steel. It’s a size medium / 17. In good used condition – a few scrapes and marks here and there, but nothing major – there are some paint chips around the disc brake mount (for ref: Post Mount, takes a 180mm rotor). Only thing to really note is that there is’webbing’ under the gel coat across the frame. I’ve tried to capture this in the photos – if you hover over you should be able to see it clearly. Think there was a run of these frames with this issue – basically the paint underneath didn’t dry before the top coat went on. Takes a 120-150mm fork – optimised around 140mm apparently (but I reckon 120/130mm is the sweet spot). Included in the sale. Ritchey seatclamp (the frame takes a 30.9mm seat post, and has routing for an internal dropper). Kona Explosif Mountain Bike Frameset. 1993 Model with Tange Ultimate Chromoly Steel Tubing – with the fluted downtube. Very rare to find. Size 18 Approx Measurements. Top Tube Centre to Centre = 22/560mm. Seat Tube Centre to Top = 18/460mm. Weight = 6.5lb/2.95kg (includes Forks and headset). Has had a rattle can respray at some point so is definitely one for a full restore project. The final photo shows a scan of an old MBUK magazine where it won the test. I was after one of these for years after reading this and was fortunate enough to pick this up 10+ years ago and built this up as a winter hack. I never bothered with a full respray as I later picked up an original 1995 model that was in a better size for me! Signs of the years and age. Small ding on the downtube. Nothing to worry about and really common on these old school Kona thin walled tubes. Was like this when I got it! These early Kona Steel frames are very sought after and are only getting rarer. Black magic custom butted steel. 18.5 from centre of BB shell to top of seat tube. 22.5 centre of seat tube to centre of head tube. 120mm head tube length. Standard 1&1/8 straight steerer. 68mm standard English threaded bottom bracket. For rim brakes only (v brakes). Seatpost diameter is 27.2mm. Front mech will be 28.6mm. 135mm standard drop out.
