Time for my much loved frame to have a new home. Has been taped since new so in pretty good condition. There are of course some scuffs which I have tried to capture in the photos. The frame rides amazingly, it’s been one of the best full sus frames I’ve ridden. It’s a 29er, large, 110 headtube and boost rear end. I have the matching fork for sale in a separate listing. Orange 324 factory racing downhill mountain bike frame – Norlando Grey (Original factory paint). Large – 27.5 boost wheel. Fox factory DHX2 coil shock with SLS spring – Serviced by Slick & Slide not long before bike dismantled. Includes SRAM GXP BB – Hope zero stack headset & seat collar – Chain guide & bash guard. One timid, middle-aged rider from new, only been used a handful of times, and to be honest, nowhere near to being used as intended (no black runs for me) more trail centres and tamer bike park runs. Invisframed from new, barely a mark on it, anything that can be seen is generally dirt around edges of, and marks on invisframe from things like zip ties etc… If removed/replaced paintwork would look as new. Never crashed, Absolutely no dents, dings, cracks or structural defects. Shock works perfectly, all controls work as should, no leaks. Bearings good, smooth and with no play. Being meticulously maintained and barely ridden will do that! Photo’s don’t do it justice as probably should have cleaned it first! I’m not really a downhiller these days, hence parting bike out (Bought brand new on a whim) I had kept hold of the frame as it is a lovely ride and thought about maybe trying a mullet conversion based around a 180mm single crown and 29 front wheel, but I’ve too many bikes and it really should stay as a DH race bike….. Surly Krampus size Large, 2014. This was professionally modified to take a rohloff speed hub and belt drive, making it pretty special! The modification allows the rear wheel to be removed and refitted without needing to mess about with additional bolts, by adding a movable nubbin (to adjust for chain / belt length) which the standard oem2 axle plate locates onto. The right hand seat stay has a splitter installed for using a belt. I also have a suitable belt and sprocket which I’ll soon get listed. The seatpost isn’t included but will be listed in my other items shortly (27.2). No headset or bottom bracket fitted, but can supply and fit new Hope, Cane Creek, Chris King, Shimano etc if required – just message for a price. I also have a used adjustable angle headset which can be fitted, allowing you to steepen the head angle a little (say for bike packing) or slacken it for shredding. I’ve set the minimum offer at 350 for now, but I won’t be accepting anything that lies unless it’s at here for a while. Any questions, please ask!
Bontrager Privateer Retro 1998 MTB Frame Size Large / 19. In beautiful Condition having be re-painted to a very high standard about 5 years ago in gloss black with brand new decals from retro decals. They are a few very light marks here and there but nothing of note. This is a Trek-era Privateer, not that that is anything to get stuffy about as they were built to a very high standard in the USA. Despite being of 1998 vintage it had the classic 1 head tube and a rear canti brake hanger so you can build up an early-90′s looking bike with ease. Forks would have been either a 60mm travel Rockshox (I have these available if required) or a tig welded rigid fork with an axle to crown dimension of around 400mm. It’s a size large in Bontrager-speak, which means 19″ when measured in the “standard for the day” “centre to top way. Seat tube centre to centre: 17. Seat tube centre to top: 19. Top tube actual centre to centre: 22.25. Top tube effective horizontal c-c: 22.5. Head tube end to end: 4.25. Seatpost diameter: 27.0mm. Bottom bracket: 73mm BSA I have a suitable Shimano XT (UN72 in my other listings). Front mech: 28.6mm top pull. Will be well wrapped and posted using Parcel Force.
