2014 Turner DHR (medium) Legendary DownHill Racer. Fitted with a 2015 Cane Creek double barrel air shock, providing circa 8.4 of rear wheel travel! But the clever dw-link setup means this a very pedal-friendly ride to get back up the hill :- I was using it with a pair of Fox 40′s and the combination was the most capable suspension I have ridden. I always try to build my bikes as light as possible, so I was quite happy with the weight savings of the cane creek, but if you want to go back to a coil shock, I can supply the frame without a shock and at a discounted price (message me to discuss). I will leave the hope headset and sram gxp bottom bracket fitted. Rear axle is a 12x150mm bolt-through. Turner frames have always been of the highest quality, but with the last iteration of the DHR they really produced an engineering masterpiece. The cnc machining on the central section is exceptional. I seem to remember Dave Turner said the cnc bill during production was quite excessive! Probably why the frames were over 2k. Condition is generally good. The bearings were repacked with grease and then I only did a few rides before it was put into storage. Negatives – a little chain wear and cable rub, some marks on the downtube near the bottom bracket, two small dents from the previous owner, see pictures for ref, but they do not affect performance of the frame. I was running the bike with mastic tape over any points of abrasion, but I have removed it all so you can see any marks pre-existing on the frame.
This is a lovely, high quality bike that I have completely built up using a sellection of new and very good used parts. It has a small 14 1/2″ frame and is suitable for riders ranging in height from about 5’1″ up to about 5’8 The bike is based around a beautiful Norco alluminium frame which other than a few stone chips which I have repaired, looks very close to new. I have fitted a brand new Microshift Advent 9 speed clutch derailleur and shifter a brand new wide range rear cassette, new chain and new single front narrow/wide chain ring. The brakes are a new set of Clarks hyraulic disks. The forks are pre-owned but are in perfect order. They have a sealed air cartridge (although have mechanical rebound adjusment and have a lockout lever). They are very smooth and work perfectly. The wheelset was taken from a low milage Voodoo and have been fully checked over (bearings replaced and checked for trueness). They are fitted with a very good pair of Maxxis tyres with little to no wear. Handlebars and stem are lightweight alloy, I have fitted a brand new headset, grips and saddle. As you can imagine, this bike rides like a brand new bike and other than a few minor paint chip repairs, looks like new too. Used very lightly by my other half for family rides. I bought it second hand so has all of the usual marks of a used frame. I have stripped it, cleaned it, regressed the bearings and then rebuilt it. It is in great working order. For 26inch wheels only, it measures 17inches from the centre of the BB to the top of the seat tube.
My old osprey has a missing front derailleur and the rear brake wire is ziptied to the frame as the old clips broke also has a damaged rear derailleur that is tuned incorrectly and is bent slightly so it needs replacing but it does come with a replacement for the rear cassette MF TZ 500-7 there are other parts with minor damage and it also needs a front axle replacement but it’s a good deal for anyone willing to put this thing back on the roads.
