Bontrager Privateer Retro 1998 MTB Frame Size Large / 19. In beautiful Condition having be re-painted to a very high standard about 5 years ago in gloss black with brand new decals from retro decals. They are a few very light marks here and there but nothing of note. This is a Trek-era Privateer, not that that is anything to get stuffy about as they were built to a very high standard in the USA. Despite being of 1998 vintage it had the classic 1 head tube and a rear canti brake hanger so you can build up an early-90′s looking bike with ease. Forks would have been either a 60mm travel Rockshox (I have these available if required) or a tig welded rigid fork with an axle to crown dimension of around 400mm. It’s a size large in Bontrager-speak, which means 19″ when measured in the “standard for the day” “centre to top way. Seat tube centre to centre: 17. Seat tube centre to top: 19. Top tube actual centre to centre: 22.25. Top tube effective horizontal c-c: 22.5. Head tube end to end: 4.25. Seatpost diameter: 27.0mm. Bottom bracket: 73mm BSA I have a suitable Shimano XT (UN72 in my other listings). Front mech: 28.6mm top pull. Will be well wrapped and posted using Parcel Force. If you have any questions or wish to discuss a lower price, please ask. Thanks, Matt 07579 774 633.
Bird Aeris Am9 frame with rear shock size – medium/long in v. C, usual scraps etc from being a MTB, I have highlighted these in the pics cables left in place for easy building rear shock, bottom bracket, headset, derailleur hange, seat clamp and rear axler included had a bearing change shortly before going I to storage for the past few years.
Excellent condition all round with just the few light marks on the down tube. I have used the headset bearings from this frame however I have left the nukeproof headset top cover and also the bit that seats onto the top bearing. Also I will throw in some nukeproof stem spacers and the stem cap Cash on collection Leicester LE4.
I will include a bleed kit, dot fluid and a spare set of brake pads. I’ve been riding it for a while despite the following: Rear brake lever / reservoir needs replacing due to a worn screw. I have bled the brakes but cannot adjust the position of the lever / piston due to a broken screw. Impossible to brake as lever touches handlebar before pads contact discs. Front brake clamp is loose. Head of bolt has sheared off. Needs extracting and a new bolt. Forks need a good service. Damaged seals and worn stanchions. Could do with new tyres. I don’t have the space, energy or time to fix it but if you fancy a project it could be a really mice 20mm Allen key me needed to tighten cranks Frame, chainset, rear shock and dropper post in great condition. Collection only from Hebden Bridge. Will drive / take to a nearby train station within reason.
Frame is in excellent condition and barely used. Apparently it’s the internet’s favourite hardtail. It’s extremely light with modern trail/enduro geometry. Comes with headset and seat clamp. Happy to answer any questions. Can be posted or collected from Forest hill in London.
