Ritchey Logic Headset for 1 1/8 Straight Steerer. The frame is in nice condition, no major scratches or scrapes, no dents. There’s a couple of spots on the underside where the paint looks like it’s corroded and bubbling. However this is not the case. The paint is hard to the touch and is NOT flaking off, it seems that is how it came from the factory. But I didn’t have it from new so.. Lower bearing on the headset is ok but not great.
Trek Retro stp400 in team trek vw colour. I believe from 2001. Overall condition is very good. Top tube has scuffing from cable rattle. Head tube has a couple of grooves from cable rattle. Drive side frame stay(seat stay) has a groove from cable rub. Top of seat tube has some cable rub also. The stickers are a little scratched and rubbed in places. But there’s bonus period stickers on it too m, rock shox – x-lite and a really old hope sticker. Bb threads are great, have just been chased just to clean them out. A reasonable richey logic headset is included. Original bontrager seat post and a third party seat post clamp. Hanger is straight and true. Has a cane creek ad5 rear shock on it which I believe is an upgrade to the regular sid rear shock that was oem. Please use the pictures alongside the description as not every little thing can be documented. It’s a good solid frame that will build up nicely. Top tube 560mm (22). Down tube, 650mm (24, 1/2). Seat tube 500mm (20).
Lovely retro Scott mountain bike frame. Original hot pink paint job. With original yellow decals. Good condition for the age. Headset runs smooth but with a bit of a notchy feel. Bottom bracket threads clean and in good condition. Braze-ons for front low riders or a front rack. Brazed on spoke holders on right chain stay. Would suit somebody about five foot eleven or six foot. Good quality frame material made in Taiwan. The rear brake braze ons are for a u brake. The front brake studs are for a cantilever or v brake.
Lee Cooper LA Cycles Retro Steel MTB Frame and Forks like Chas Roberts DOGSBOLX 18.5. Here we have a very rare beast. In fact it’s the only be ever built. Lee Cooper is a master frame builder based in Coventry. He’s done contract building for most of the British frame manufacturers and for a time in the 1990′s he and business partner Al, ran LA Cycles behind John Atkins Cyckes on Far Gosford Street. Lee was the builder and Al was the painter. Their bikes were fully custom in the vane of Dave Yates, Chas Roberts et al and on the rare occasion their bikes were tested in magazines, they loved them. In the late 80′s and early 90′s, spurred on by the popularity of mountain biking in USA, most of these British builders started adding MTB frames to their traditional road bike offerings. This is a prototype that Lee built for himself to test ideas. It uses a combination of fillet brazing and lugs for the high end skinny steel Columbus and Reynolds tubes (he can’t remember exactly what model they are). You can see where Lee has experimented with tyre vs crank clearance by heating the tubing and “manipulating” with a heavy object! It was originally built around the chrome-plated steel threaded fork but Lee also used the suspension forks seen in the photos which are SR Suntour 8500′s in a very similar (but not exact same) yellow shade with matching graphics. This has not been used for many years. The stanchions are good, the adjusters work and there is no excessive slop of play but they will need a full service if you intend to ride them. Please note these are threadless for aheadset systems and have a long 180mm 1 steerer. Both forks are included in this sale. The yellow frame paint is original and although there are quite a lot of chips, it’s deep and glossy. The chips could be easily touched in if required. I know Lee quite well both from bitd and from doing a lot of frame repairs on my retro MTB fleet and so when he was moving his workshop he offered me his old frames. All but three are now gone and this is the last one to be listed. I’ve got too many bikes so it’s time to move it on to an appreciative collector. Bring fully custom, it’s not a “size” as such but I guess you’d call it a 18.5 based on seat tube length centre to top. The actual dimensions are. Seat tube centre to top: 18.5. Seat tube centre to centre: 15.75. Top tube effective horizontal with the rigid forks: 23. Head tube end to end: 5. Seat post diameter: 27.2mm. Front mech diameter: 28.6mm. Headset: 1 threaded (rigid) / threadless (suspension). Fork axle to crown: 39cm (rigid) / 440mm suspension. Rear axle spacing is 130mm but you can splay them slightly to get a 135mm wide hub in if you like. Frame mass: 1915g. Rigid fork mass: 920g. Suspension fork mass: 1750g. Retro 90s Univega Alpina double butted cro-moly Steel frame. Size is 18″ from centre of bottom bracket to top of seat tube, reach is 22″ from centre of seat tube to centre of head tube. Frame is made from Formula Race Lite 969 double butted tubing (0.9/0.6/0.9mm). Comes with original Concepts USA alloy seat post (26.0mm), stem, flat bars and bar ends. All of which have seen better days, paint peeling, scratches etc. Has original dia compe 1 aheadset, which may require new bearings. Nice two tone purple fade paintwork. Graphics are in decent condition, few rust spots here and there, all adds to the patina, she is over 30 years old after all. Obviously it’s for 26 standard mtb axle wheels and rim brakes only. 73mm bb shell width. All 3 pairs of bottle boss threads are fine, as are the bottom bracket, mech hanger and rack mounts. No issues, seatpost moves freely in frame.
Somewhat of a rare pony this one. Really want to keep it, but it’s the time old story, too many projects and not enough space. Plus it’d be a waste of bike for the skills that I have nowadays. I believe it to be original paint and decals, which is nice, in pretty good condition all around really, its obviously been sat around as a project for more of its life than its been ridden for. Scuffs here and there, stuff that will polish out with some effort. Some paint chips from chain slap. And some tyre rub. There’s a crappy paint chip just infront of the seat post clamp from bad storage and moving. I’d say that’s the worst blemish. Original stickers I think with a bunch of period extra stickers which I’m always a fan of and really don’t like taking them off as they really show a place in time where it came from. Has a dmr bb adapter fitted which seems in good order. And, the very very rare original hope rear mount – along with a full set of hope brakes – front and rear. These will absolutely need a full rebuild. The rear lever was separated from the hose as the hose was already messed up and the lever waving around was risking chiping the frame some more, so off it came. Includes seatpost and clamp and 24seven seat. However, sadly and annoyingly it does not include the rear dropout kit. Although it seems these are slightly easier to get a hold of than the hope mount so at least there’s that. A really cool rig. It really deserves some energy to make it great again. And hey the malverns is just around the corner.
Do some research on retro bike, it was a thing. I bought it as a project but not enough time and this one really is a big project. These frames have a habit of braking the bonds between the glued tubes and lugs. The paint on the lugs are one sneeze away from fully going, as the alloy has oxidised underneath the paint. It only has one brake mount so will need ro source or make one. The main linkage between shock and rear stays is missing so again, source or make. Everything is rusted or oxidised. Seat post isn’t seized luckily. The bb present seems good but I dare try to take it out, I think it holds the chain stays in place as it pivots here. A big project but only if you’re brave. Not for me, I’ve got a house that needs rebuilding you know how it is. They do look very nice when fully built up, last picture is obviously for inspiration and is nothing to do with me.
KLEIN Attitude Race Mountain Bike Frame. Medium Sizing approximate measurements. Seat Tube – Centre to top 17.5 (44.5cm). Top Tube – Centre to centre 22.5 (57cm). Weight = 3.48lb/1.58kg. V Brake Mounts only. Some chainsuck marks that were covered mostly in my use by chainset. Some light marks but overall lovely shiny paintwork. One small imperfection/dink near integral cabling hole.

Fork steerer: 1 1/8″, tapered, 1.5″ or Cannondale lefty/headshock depending on headset. BB shell width: 68mm. Post diameter: 27.2mm. Rear hub required 135mm x 9mm QR. Brake mount: Disc IS. Shock: Fox Float RL. Overall in good condition for the age. Shines up well and really presents well in the sun. No play in the bearings. Scratches and wear present, worst is a cable rub mark to the down tube of non drive side. Pro Pedal has little effect. Would recommend a service to get the best out the shock.
